If you were the USA's president during a possible World War, in the past century... and you had Superman from your side, what you will order him to do?
I ask this cause i'm working on "Superman, steampunk Version" and i'm asking myself in what pose i should draw him.
Let's think about that, Batman (as i drew him) is a very.. alone soldier of fortune, an eccentric and very rich man that want to be remembered for his action during the war.
The USA's government could not be interested in him. but Superman, alone, could change the fate of every war, he could be even more useful than an atomic bomb, he's like Dr. Manhattan, you would send him in battle? leaving all the USA without his best defense? and what Superman could do in that situation? during a war he cannot save everyone, he will have to choose a side, and kill the other. if he won't do that, the same person he usually saves could start to think that, superman, is leaving our sons dying in the warzone, without saving them...
I drew him for the first time on his normal pose, closing fist, showing his muscles in a statuary pose, dressed like a marine's captain.
Then, i drew him sitted on a chair, with his hands over his head... dressed in the same way, but tortured by the heavy problem that press against his mind.
Don't saving the soldiers during a war is like leaving them to die.
but for saving them, he have to defeat the enemies... and are they really the bad guys?
Looking at the economic side of a war, maybe the USA could like to have a little longer war, for the support and sales of weapons to the allies, so, when i drew him sitted on a chair, i thought about the president saying him "Don't worry about the war, son, go home"
Let's talk about this!
I would like to have your opinion and discuss about him before to choose the definitive pose for Superman!
